July 21 - Quick Turnaround

Selections from the Northern Plains Indians (referenced to the Northern/Southern Arapaho split of 1860) through Arnold Schoenberg's Six Little Piano Pieces, plus more Berg Wozzeck and Prokofiev Peter and the Wolf, for the Historians. The Pianists get Richard Berry's Louie Louie (I IV V IV), the Led Zeppelin Stairway to Heaven end progression (i bVII bVI bVII), Igor Stravinsky's D Major/Minor and E Minor Five Fingers pieces, Ludwig van Beethoven's Fur Elise opening, a bit of Darius Milhaud's La Creation du Monde.

Lab time includes finishing orchestration of

Esther Xerxes:

IV. DUETTO - "Bigthana and Teresh" (The Plot Against Xerxes)

(a G.F. Handel Xerxes trope, freely altered, in G Melodic Ascending-Descending Locrian -- i.e. Do Ra Me Fa Se La Ti Do -- somehow referencing Bela Bartok) and recording same, with Doug on the coffee run.

Much of the evening given over to orchestrating

EX: V. ARIA - "There is a certain race" (The Plot Against the Jews)

and

VI. DUETTO - "On the thirteenth day of Adar",

plus talking to Harriet on the phone, looking forward to her return.
