March 16 - 12-Bar Grays and Blues

Mount Diablo is wreathed and

wraithed on the way to St. Mary's, where Music and the Enlightenment reaches Archangelo Corelli and Johann Pachelbel.

The sun returns at DVC Theory where we do a dictation/board-harmony based on the finale of Igor Stravinsky's Firebird, plus explore excerpts from Pulcinella, The Rite of Spring, and deal with whole-tone scales. After a welcome call from John Browning, Harriet and I rendezvous at the SF U-Haul place, returning the van and driving past that intriguing still life of mosque above church on the hill, before reaching the hills of home to finish Psalm 11 and the orchestration of King David: VI. Flee to the Mountains, and begin Psalm 55 and the instrumentation to KD: VII. O for the Wings of a Dove.
